Root cause diagnostics

20+ biomarkers tested

Hormone analysis

  • Estradiol
  • Progesterone
  • Total Testosterone
  • Free Testosterone
  • Follicle-Stimulating Hormone (FSH)
  • Luteinizing Hormone (LH)

This panel evaluates the core hormones that regulate menstrual cycles, energy, mood, metabolism, and reproductive health.

Thyroid function

  • Thyroid-Stimulating Hormone (TSH)
  • Free T3
  • Free T4

This panel assesses how effectively the thyroid supports metabolism, temperature regulation, weight stability, and cognitive function.

Inflammation & blood health

  • Ferritin

This panel evaluates iron status, oxygen delivery, and overall blood health—factors that influence energy, endurance, and hormonal function.

Cardiovascular & brain health

  • Total Cholesterol
  • LDL Cholesterol
  • HDL Cholesterol
  • Triglycerides

This panel provides insight into cardiovascular risk and lipid balance, which are closely linked to hormone production, circulation, and long-term health. Healthy lipid levels support optimal hormone synthesis and overall vascular function.

Metabolic health

  • Fasting Glucose
  • Hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c)

These markers provide insight into blood sugar regulation, insulin sensitivity, and metabolic efficiency, which are key drivers of energy, weight regulation, and hormonal stability.

Liver & kidney function

  • Alanine Aminotransferase (ALT)
  • Alkaline Phosphatase (ALP)
  • Creatinine / eGFR

These markers assess how effectively the liver and kidneys process hormones, medications, and metabolic byproducts for safe hormone optimization and long-term treatment sustainability.

Frequently asked questions

What is menopause and how do I know if I’m experiencing it?

Menopause is a natural transition when the ovaries stop ovulating and menstrual cycles come to an end due to significant hormonal changes. It occurs in three stages:

  1. Perimenopause (35+): Hormone levels begin to fluctuate, leading to irregular periods, hot flashes, mood swings, night sweats, and sleep disturbances.
  2. Menopause (after 12 consecutive months without a period): The body adjusts to lower hormone levels, and symptoms like vaginal dryness, fatigue, weight gain, and emotional changes may persist.
  3. Postmenopause (usually after age 60): Symptoms often lessen, but the long-term effects of lower hormone levels increase the risk of osteoporosis, heart disease, and metabolic changes.

How do hormones change during menopause?

As menopause progresses, key hormones decrease, leading to noticeable changes:

  • Estrogen decreases: causes hot flashes, night sweats, vaginal dryness, and mood swings, while increasing the risk of osteoporosis and heart disease.
  • Progesterone decreases: leads to anxiety, insomnia, and irregular periods.
  • Testosterone decreases: results in low libido, fatigue, and muscle weakness.
  • Cortisol decreases: increases stress sensitivity, anxiety, and emotional fluctuations.
  • Metabolism decreases: leads to weight gain, especially around the abdomen, and raises the risk of insulin resistance.

These hormonal shifts impact overall health, but lifestyle changes and medical support can help manage symptoms.

How does the virtual menopause program work?

Our virtual menopause program starts with a simple online health assessment, followed by a comprehensive blood work panel to ensure treatment is safe for you. Once your results are reviewed, you’ll have a video consultation with a licensed clinician to discuss your symptoms and receive a personalized treatment plan. If prescribed, your medication is shipped directly to you in a three-month supply, with quarterly follow-ups to monitor progress and adjust treatment as needed.

Why is blood work required and when should it be done?

During menopause, hormone levels fluctuate constantly, so blood tests don’t determine treatment needs as they do for other conditions. Instead, blood work is used to rule out underlying issues and ensure there are no contraindications to treatment, prioritizing safety. Our comprehensive blood panel checks 13 key markers, including hormone levels, overall biochemistry, ferritin, and vitamin B12. The timing of your blood work depends on your menstrual cycle.

  • Regular cycles: Draw blood between days 19-21 of your cycle.
  • No period for 1+ years: Blood work can be done anytime.

Irregular cycles: Aim for days 19-21, counting from your last cycle. All blood work should be completed in the morning after a 12-hour fast.

What are the costs of the menopause program?

The initial costs include $50 for blood work, and a $200 consultation fee if you are deemed eligible for treatment. Follow-up consultations are $200 every 3 months to monitor progress and adjust treatment as needed.

What treatment options are available for menopause symptoms?

Menopause symptoms can be managed with Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT), which restores key hormones to alleviate discomfort. Treatment options include pills, patches, and creams, depending on your needs and lifestyle. If HRT isn’t suitable, non-hormonal medications or supplements may be recommended to help with energy, sleep, and overall wellbeing. Our licensed clinicians will guide you toward the best treatment for your symptoms.
