Frequently asked questions

How does weight loss work remotely?

1. How does weight loss work remotely?

With Science&Humans, weight loss care is personalized and fully online.
Your treatment plan is built by licensed healthcare providers and may include prescription medication, nutrition and lifestyle support, and ongoing guidance from health coaches.

You’ll also have continued access to your care team on a secure, care portal throughout your active subscription — so you’re supported every step of the way.

What makes Science&Humans different?

Our approach combines modern medicine with a more holistic view of health.

We pair evidence-based prescription treatments with ongoing coaching, lifestyle guidance, and regular clinical check-ins. Care is personalized, flexible, and designed to evolve with you.

Who is eligible for the program?

Eligibility is determined by a licensed clinician based on your health history and individual needs.

In general, weight loss treatment may be appropriate for adults with:

BMI of 27 or higher

Other health factors where weight management support may be beneficial

Final eligibility and treatment decisions are always made by a licensed practitioner.

How do I get started?

Getting started is simple:

Complete our online in-depth health assessment then attend a virtual 30 minute consultation.

If eligible, a clinician approved prescription will be issued

Collaborate on a personalized care plan, which may include medication, coaching, and lifestyle support

If medication is prescribed, it will be delivered directly to your door through our partner pharmacy. Ongoing follow-ups and coaching support are available throughout your subscription.

Is treatment covered by insurance?

Prescription weight loss medications are not typically covered by insurance, though coverage can vary by plan.

We recommend checking directly with your insurance provider. If required, insurance forms can be submitted to support@scienceandhumans.com for assistance.

What does my Science&Humans subscription include?

Your weight loss subscription includes:

Clinician-led virtual care

Personalized treatment planning

Prescription management (if clinically appropriate)

Unlimited access to health coaching during your active subscription

Regular virtual follow-up visits to support progress and adjustments

Medication costs are separate unless otherwise stated.

What medication will I be prescribed?

If medication is appropriate, your clinician will recommend a treatment based on your health profile, goals, and preferences.

There’s no one-size-fits-all solution. Medication type and dosage are determined solely by the licensed practitioner and may change over time as your needs evolve.

When is payment processed?

Payment is collected once you’ve been assessed and approved for treatment.

Subscription renewals and follow-up care are billed automatically according to your plan, ensuring continuity of care without interruptions. You’ll always have visibility into upcoming charges on your secure care portal.
